BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Saint Martin's women's golf team participated in the 2022 Western Washington University Women's Invitation. Out of 17 total teams, the Saints finished up in 13th place.

Kelsie Inouye was once again one of the highlights for SMU as the freshman from Hawaii notched 74 in round one that had her tied for 11th going in the second day. Round two proved to be a tougher test, though, as Inouye finished in 30th place.
"I am continually impressed with freshman Kelsie Inouye's play in competitive tournaments," said Head Coach Anne Bahr, "It's not easy to come in and have some success right away so I am excited to see her game develop as the year progresses."

The long game was one of the strengths for the Saints as Saint Martin's hit best on the Par 5s. In total, they hit just +13 on all the Par 5s over the course of the two days, meaning it was an average of 5.43 strokes per hole on those of that caliber, including a 515-yard stretch on hole seven at Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
"If the team continues to strike the ball the way they have been, the scores will come," Bahr continued, "We have a little over a week to get some good practice in before we head to Hawaii for our last two events of the fall on the islands! The team is very excited for the trip, and I am as well."

The women's golf team will be back in action after a long flight to the Aloha State where they'll participle in the Southwest Airlines HPU Shark Shootout and the Southwest Airlines Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Invitational. The first competition state is on Tuesday, October 25th at Pearl Country Club in Aiea, Hawaii.
