Saints Set to Open the 2023 Season at the Ash Creek Collegiate Meet

Race Location – Ash Creek Collegiate Meet / Monmouth, OR
 
Start Times – 5:15 p.m. Women / 5:45 a.m. Men
 
Race Distance – Women 5k / Men 6k
 
Led by head coach Matt Lowe, the Saint Martin's 2023 Cross Country team is aiming for a fast start to the season at the Ash Creek Collegiate Meet in Monmouth, Oregon on Friday night. The meet promises to bring stiff competition as the Saints will race GNAC foes WOU and SFU, as well as the 15th nationally ranked division one team the University of Portland and Oregon State women.
 
When asked about this weekend's race, sophomore Alisha Saucedo said "I'm really excited to start the season and put it all out there. Summer training was great and I feel it has really transferred into fall training, so I'm looking forward to seeing what our team can do." Alisha added that "The diverse workouts coach Lowe has given this fall has been fun and it give athletes the chance to change pace and show off different talents in training."
 
Coach Matt Lowe had this to say going into the meet on Friday as well, "The team is going into this meet with more confidence and excitement than I've ever seen them. I believe we have a very special group of people on the team aiming to do something special with a strong season opener, and excited to see what this season beholds for them."
 
Next time out: The Saints will compete at Chambers Bay in the John Payne/Curtis Invite on October 1st.
