Campigotto Keeps it Clean in Two Shutouts for SMU

LACEY, Wash. – The Saint Martin's women's soccer team (3-3-6, 1-2-5 GNAC) held firm on defense for two shutouts this week as goalkeeper Ali Campigotto had nine total saves in the two scoreless draws versus Northwest Nazarene and Western Oregon.

On the road in Nampa, Idaho to start, the Saints fired a couple good efforts on frame, but couldn't break the goose egg. Peyton Aselton, Rayvn Mummey, and Taylor Copeland all fired shots on frame. Campigotto had four saves in the second half including a massive double save in the 72nd minute when she went to ground to stuff the first shot before the rebound was rebuffed on of play.

Another 0-0 scoreline occurred on Saturday, this time in Monmouth, Oregon where Alia Khoyi and Sam Bailey provided the best offensive opportunities for the Saints. Campigotto again stepped up big, with a massively clutch save coming in the final minutes when she leapt to parry the ball over the bar on a shot from distance.

The Saints are back at home next week when they host MSU-Billings on Thursday at 1 PM.
