Anchorage, AK - The Saint cross country teams are putting in the work to take on this week's GNAC Championships hosted by Alaska Anchorage at Kincaid Park.
SMU left off two weeks ago on a good note after the Lewis Crossover giving some promising results for the Saints teams. The Saints saw so many schools that were both regionally ranked and nationally ranked that it was a great meet to participate in before this GNAC weekend. Coach Matt Lowe had this to say when asked about this weekend "We're coming off strong performances at the Lewis Crossover, and we learned how to continue our trajectory of moving up from there going into postseason. Everyone is feeling optimistic, invigorated, and excited to see how this race will unravel. I believe in what we're capable of, and it'll be exciting to see how they execute the plan set forth."
After placing the SMU women's team placed 11th out of 34 in the Lewis Crossover and the men's 27th out of 32, the Saints are feeling good about the weekend to come where they can show the hard work, they've put in all season. The GNAC Championships will consist of the Women's 6k and Men's 8k.
