Four Saints in Double Figures as Saints Can’t Overcome Seawolves

ANCHORAGE, AK. – The Saint Martin's women's basketball team (8-15, 4-11 GNAC) came up short on Thursday evening, dropping their penultimate road game of the season to Alaska-Anchorage (15-9, 7-8 GNAC) by a score of 76-63 at the Alaska Airlines Center.

Though the score end in Anchorage's favor, the Saints outscored UAA in two different quarters, with a lopsided third frame being the fatal blow. By the time the first quarter was ticking down, Rian Clear had hit a three which assured a one-point edge going into the second for SMU. In the second, the only difference between the two teams was an Alaska bucket with just 18 seconds on the clock that put the home side up two going into the locker room.

The third quarter was all UAA as they outscored Saint Martin's by 14. The Saints did what they could in the fourth, but it was all too little, too late as the Seawolves edged it out. Explosive freshman duo Sarah Lamet and Kiana Rios accounted for the majority of the points, scoring 14 each. Rian Clear chipped in 12, while Anjel Galbraith scored 11.

The Saints will play their final road game of the season on Saturday, as they partake in a collision with Alaska Fairbanks at 2 PM in Alaska Airlines Gymnasium.
