MONMOUTH, Oreg. - The Saint Martin's University women's soccer team (1-0) started their 2023 season on a high note, securing a hard-fought victory against Colorado Christian University (0-1) with a final score of 1-0. Head Coach Derek Faulkner, who marked his debut as the leader of the SMU women's soccer team, expressed his satisfaction with the performance, emphasizing the collective effort that contributed to the win.

In a game characterized by determined defense and skillful attacks, the Saints emerged victorious, with Kaeli Ploettner scoring the decisive goal in the 68th minute. Ploettner's goal was beautifully set up by Maya Foster, showcasing the team's strong teamwork and coordination on the field.
