BILLINGS, MT — Saint Martin's Volleyball (5-11, 3-5 GNAC) traveled to the state of Montana to take on the Yellowjackets in a GNAC contest this past Thursday.
The Saints' offense would get out to a hot start thanks to senior
Jennifer Soha, who would have a .381 attack percentage during the match and would contribute 10 kills to the team's totals.
Emily Garten would contribute eight kills on the day and would be an important piece of the serving game, recording five aces during the match.
Tiffany Lam would follow closely behind with three serving aces of her own along with eight digs. The Saints would keep the pace up throughout the first set, ultimately claiming it by a score of 25-18. The Saints would jump out to a 9-1 lead in the second set, but the Yellowjackets would find life thanks to the offensive spark of Jordin Taulua and Julia Gordon. Billings would claim the second set 25-21.
SMU would recover quickly after the second-set loss, as the offense would once again dominate at the beginning.
Emmy Hansen would put up a season-high 15 kills in an impressive performance and would contribute 11 digs, which would only be topped by Garten with 14. She would lead the way in set three along with
Zoey Crimin, who would end the match with eight kills in total. MSU-Billings would claw back towards the middle of the set, but the Saint Martin's would turn the heat back up and claiming set three, 25-17. The Yellowjackets would strike back immediately, however, and would finally get the Saints on their heels early in the beginning of the fourth set. The offense would fight to get back in the contest, but Billings would force a set five with a dominating 25-14 win. The Saints would quickly recover from the set loss, as they would jump out to another lead in set five thanks to a fast-paced opening attack. A kill by Crimin and two Yellowjackets errors would close the match out for the Saints as they would win the final set, 15-12.

Aundrea Oxentine, who would combine for 42 total assists over the course of five sets.
