LACEY, WA — Faulkner has resigned as the head coach of the Saint Martin's Women's Soccer program, effective December 5th, 2024.

Derek Faulkner has officially stepped down from his leadership position with SMU Women's Soccer. He will be moving to California to join his family, as Derek's wife, Katie Faulkner, is in her first season as the head coach of Pepperdine Women's Basketball. In two seasons with the Saints, Faulkner amassed a record of 6-21-10 and developed two all-conference players in Payton Aselton and Flavia Burrell.

Interim Athletic Director Theresa Hanson thanks Faulkner for his time at Saint Martin's University:

"I would like to thank Derek for his strong leadership with the Women's Soccer program. In two short years, he was able to positively influence the culture within our program and set us up for future success."
