Box Score 3 Nampa, ID – Saint Martin's softball team return to hometown Lacey, WA with one win and two losses over this weekend's double headers.
The first game on Friday was canceled due to weather but the Saints were able to play the second game as scheduled.
The first official game for the weekend was held Friday at 2pm. The Saints being first up to bat made a big splash in the first inning when #15 Shelby Lawson homered a pitch, bring in #19 Olivia Matlock and #10 Britney Patrick scoring three runs for the Saints. In the bottom of the first NNU was able to battle back and tie the score 3-3. In the top of the second #23 Ashley Goodale singled down the infield line advancing #1 Shay Lopes. #19 Olivia Matlock also singles and knocks in two runs by scoring Goodale and Lopes. The final score in the top of the second was when #5 Destiny Conerly flied out to right field batting in #10 Britney Patrick to give the Saints the lead 6-3. NNU once again pulls ahead in the bottom of the second leaving the score 6-7. In the top of the sixth the Saints are down by two. The Saints get the bats going in the top of the 6th when #9 Destiny Salamanca doubled to left center, Lopes is the next up to bat when she doubles to left field scoring pinch runner #27 Mia Zachary. Goodale comes up to bat and singles by bunt advancing Lopes to third. Patrick steps up to the plate and singles through the right side advancing Goodale to second and scoring Lopes. With the bats on fire Lawson reaches on a fielder's choice while Goodale scores. Finally, Conerly singled to center field scoring Lawson the last run of the inning, this leaves the Saints up 10-8. The Saints take the win against NNU.

The second game against Northwest Nazarene, the Saints were not able to secure the game and lost 17-2. The highlights of the game consist of these plays. In the top of the first inning Matlock singled to right field and Lawson singled to right center. In the top of the second Goodale singled to right center and scored Salamanca. The next at bat Patrick singled down the right field line scoring Lopes. In the top of the fourth Goodale singled to center field and Patrick singled up the middle.

The final game for the weekend took place Saturday in Nampa against NNU. SMU played strong on the field and took the lead When #15 Shelby Lawson singled through the life side and scoring Goodale, SMU managed to keep the lead till the seventh inning when NNU tied the game. The match up went into extra innings where NNU took the lead and secured the win in the ninth inning.
