BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Saint Martin's softball team came up on the wrong side of a four-game series with Western Washington last weekend, falling in all four games.
The first game was a ten-inning thriller that saw Vannessa Smoke tag the lone RBI for the Saints with a single scoring
Shay Lopes.
Chloe Leverington held out for four innings without allowing a run but eventually an error helped one get across to win it for WWU.
In the second game, it was
Shelby Lawson with a solo home run to score to only tally for SMU and the Saints had their only run in game three thanks to a
Heather Ebner single.
The final game again went to extra innings, thanks in large part to Ebner's two-run blast.
Britney Patrick gave the Saints the lead with a solo shot in the eighth but WWU answered with their own walk-off home run.
