LACEY, WA — The Saint Martin's Volleyball program is excited to welcome seven athletes to the team ahead of the 2024 season.

Mia Arambula is transferring in from Cal State East Bay where she redshirted her freshman year. The athletic libero brings in an impressive skill set which earned her a plethora of awards during her time at Coronado High School (NV) and with the Vegas Aces Volleyball Club, including a 2023 state championship, Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player awards, and All-Tournament Team nods. Nadia Gallegos is joining the team from Allen Community College where she displayed immense power and offensive prowess during her time at the JUCO level. The 6'1" middle hitter brings an elite toolkit to the court that will give opposing teams problems all season long. Kingsley Mason is bringing even more offensive firepower to the squad at the opposite hitter position, totaling a .323 hitting percentage in her 2023 season with Orange Coast College. Daniela Gonzalez will be rounding out an impressive group of transfers, as the 5'11" opposite hitter had an impressive run at College of the Sequoias, tallying 253 kills in the 2023 season.

Aundrea Oxentine will be coming to Lacey from Honolulu, Hawaii, where she was a standout for the Maryknoll High School volleyball team. The setter will bring in over eight years of club experience, including an impressive stint with Ka Ulukoa for the past three years. Madison Thomas brings power to the outside hitter position. The California native had a standout club season for NorCal Volleyball Club and will be an imposing force for the Saints during her time at Saint Martin's. Leila Quinn rounds out the 2024 recruiting class with an immense knowledge of the game. The Spring Valley High School (NV) graduate also deepens and already-stacked outside hitter rotation.

Head Coach Wade Taylor is confident in this class's ability to be able to compete right away and bolster and already-impressive roster of returners, and build off an offense that was second in the GNAC in kills per set in 2023. He had the following to say about this year's class:

"This recruiting class is full of very talented players. This group makes us much better immediately.  All of these young women have high character and will be amazing student athletes. Our nine returners have already done an excellent job of embracing and welcoming the new players, which only adds to the team cohesiveness that was a critical piece of last year's record-setting season. I believe 2024 has the potential to be extremely special because of the quality of individuals we have representing the Saint Martin's volleyball program. I am honored &  privileged to coach each one of them. I cannot wait to get started!"

The Saints will begin their volleyball season on Thursday, September 5th at the Hawaii-Hilo Tournament where they will compete against Hawaii Pacific, Bemidji State, Hawaii-Hilo, and Cal Poly Humboldt.
