BILLINGS, Mont. — The Saint Martin's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the 2025 GNAC Championships today in Billings, Montana.
Freshman Kekaihulali Halpern led the way for SMU, earning All-GNAC with a 10th place finish in the women's 6k and earning recognition as GNAC Freshman of the Year.
As a team, the Saints finished ninth in the men's 8k and 10th in the women's 6k.
Halpern led the Saints in the women's 6k, clocking in at 21:42.2 to place 10th overall and earn All-GNAC honors.
Camila Romo was the next finisher for the Saints, clocking in at 24:43.1 to place 67th. Kekaimalino Halpern was one spot behind in 68th, finishing at 24:49.1 Mira Jayarama placed 71st with a time of 25:03.8, and Olivia Mitchell rounded out the SMU top five with a 72nd-place finish at 25:07.6.
In the men's 8k, Elijah Dale was SMU's top finisher with a time of 25:52.7, placing 41st.
Tyler Scott was next across the line for the Saints, placing 52nd with a time of 26:18.4. Jake Beck was close behind in 56th, clocking in at 26:30.5 to place 56th.
Kainalu Pagente placed 66th with a time of 27:06.6 and Ethan Coon rounded out SMU's top five with a time of 27:21.6 to place 68th.
Next up for the Saints, the team will travel to Monmouth, Oregon to compete at the NCAA West Region Championships on Nov. 8.
