BURNABY, B.C. — The Saint Martin's Men's Soccer team lost its GNAC road matchup at Simon Fraser by a score of 2-0 on Saturday, October 4.
The Saints battled out a scoreless draw for the first 68 minutes of play, but two second-half goals by the Red Leafs made all the difference.
How It Happened
- The Saints saw shot attempts from Soren Hanson and Landen Diaz in the first half, while goalkeeper Connor Leistiko made two saves to keep the score 0-0 heading into halftime.
- SMU drew four fouls by Simon Fraser within the first 6:02 of the second half.
- Leistiko made two more saves midway through the second half, before Simon Fraser grabbed a 1-0 advantage after Michael Hennessy scored off an assist from Derek Ebel and Luis Klimo.
- In the 75th minute, the Saints saw a shot by Paul Lopez and a shot on goal by Lukas Wexler.
- The Red Leafs doubled the lead to 2-0 in the 79th minute, as Kian Proctor scored for Simon Fraser off an assist from Koji Poon.
- The Saints saw a shot attempt by Soren Hanon in the 82nd minute, but were unable to make up any ground.
