LACEY, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Women's Soccer team played out a 1-1 draw at home against Central Washington on Saturday, October 4.
After a scoreless first half, both teams exchanged goals within a quick turnaround, knotting the game at 1-1 in a competitive showing by both sides.
How It Happened
- Saint Martin's held a 5-3 advantage in shots in a scoreless first half, including a shot on goal by Eve Charles in the 10th minute.
- Central Washington also recorded a shot on goal attempt in the opening 10 minutes, as neither team managed to find the back of the net through the first 45 minutes.
- Central Washington broke the scoreless tie in the 56th minute, as Kelsey Fulton scored off an assist from Haley Engstrom.
- The Saints bounced back in the 60th minute, as Briana-Jean Tanaka scored a goal assisted by Eve Charles. The goal was Tanaka's second of the season.
- Saint Martin's added another shot on goal in the final 30 minutes of the match, while Central Washington saw three shots on goal. Neither team managed to score the deciding goal, as the final whistle blew on a 1-1 draw.
