SEATTLE, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Men's Soccer team was defeated 2-1 at No. 24 Seattle Pacific on Saturday, November 1.
The Saints saw a late goal by Cole Sullivan, but were unable to make up any further ground and fell by one goal.
How It Happened
- Within the first 12 minutes, Saint Martin's goalkeeper Connor Leistiko fended off three shots on goal from the Falcons. Leistiko recorded five saves in the first half.
- The Saints saw four first half shots, two of which were shots on goal by Xander Koenig.
- Seattle Pacific scored in the 35th minute, as Jackson Goode scored unassisted. The Saints went into halftime trailing 1-0.
- SMU saw another shot on goal attempt early in the second half from Xander Koenig, Seattle Pacific later doubled the lead to 2-0 with a goal by Cristian Chel Lara.
- Cole Sullivan put SMU on the board with an unassisted goal in the 85th minute, his second of the year.
- Despite late momentum with the goal by Sullivan, the Saints were unable to find an equalizer in the final six minutes and fell by a final score of 2-1.
