Saints Men’s Soccer defeated 2-0 against Western Washington

LACEY, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Men's Soccer team lost its home matchup against Western Washington 2-0 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey, Washington on Thursday, November 30.

How It Happened

  • Within the first 22 minutes, goalkeeper Connor Leistiko made three saves to keep the Vikings off the board. Paul Lopez fired a shot on target in the 19th minute for the Saints.
  • In the 25th minute, Reiley Buri-Brown scored a goal off a Western Washington free kick that soared into the bottom right corner of the goal.
  • Leistiko fended off three more shots on goal and Lopez recorded another shot, as the Saints went into halftime trailing 1-0.
  • In the second half, Saint Martin's recorded three shots, one of which was on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
  • Western Washington added another goal in the 57th minute, as Landon Schulze scored off a through ball from Albin Jonsson to double the Vikings' lead.
