NAMPA, ID — The Saint Martin's Softball team (19-9, 4-4 GNAC) faced Northwest Nazarene in an intense four-game series, showcasing elite offensive production and gritty performances on both sides. The Saints came away with two wins, backed by standout individual efforts and a relentless team spirit.
Saint Martin's opened the series with a commanding 10-7 victory.
Heather Ebner stole the show, driving in an impressive five RBIs to fuel the Saints' offense.
Ashley Goodale contributed significantly with three runs and two RBIs, keeping the momentum on Saint Martin's side. On the mound,
Chloe Leverington delivered a strong performance, keeping the Northwest Nazarene bats in check and giving the Saints the edge they needed to close out the game. In a tough 9-7 loss, Saint Martin's fought hard but came up just short.
Haley Agena stepped up with four RBIs, providing a much-needed spark for the Saints' offense.
Kekai Schultz also delivered at the plate, driving in three runs. Despite the Saints' offensive push, Northwest Nazarene managed to edge ahead in the late innings to claim the win.
The third game of the series proved to be a thrilling back-and-forth battle. Ebner continued her hot streak, launching a clutch home run and racking up six RBIs. The Saints saw contributions from multiple players, as the entire lineup worked together to keep the scoreboard active. Unfortunately, Northwest Nazarene managed to squeeze out an 11-10 victory in the final moments, leaving Saint Martin's just short of another win. Determined to finish strong, the Saints delivered a dominant 11-2 victory in the series finale. The entire team contributed, exemplifying resilience and teamwork. Agena stood out once again with two runs and two RBIs, while every player in the lineup played a role in the commanding win. The defense held firm, and the pitching staff kept Northwest Nazarene's offense in check to seal the game in five innings.
The Saints will be on a bye this coming weekend before returning to action in a home series against Montana State Billings, starting on April 5th.
