PORTLAND, Ore. — The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) today announced its 2025 preseason all-conference volleyball team. Saint Martin's junior outside hitter Emily Garten earned a spot on this year's All-GNAC preseason team.

A native of Placentia, California, Garten returns for her junior season after leading the GNAC with .54 aces per set last season. She totaled team highs in points (310), kills (248), and aces (53). Garten also led the Saints with 225 digs, recording double-digit digs in eight games. A model of consistency, Garten started in all 26 games for Saint Martin's and totaled six double-doubles.

Garten is one of 14 players across the GNAC to earn preseason all-conference recognition. The Saints are set to begin the 2025 season on Thursday, September 4, facing off against Chadron State College at the Eagle Classic in Chadron, Nebraska. SMU's first home match is set for Sept. 2, a GNAC matchup against Simon Fraser.
