Saints fall at home against #14 Stanislaus State

LACEY, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Men's Soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of No. 14 Stanislaus State at Saints Field on Saturday, September 13.

The Saints tallied eight shots and five shots on goal, but early goals from the Warriors tilted the game toward the visitors. SMU is back in action next Thursday, facing Cal Poly Humboldt on the road.

How It Happened

  • Stanislaus State scored the first goal quickly in the opening stages, with Kenneth Solares finding the back of the net just 34 seconds into the match.
  • The Warriors doubled the lead to 2-0 with a goal from Emmanuel Duran in the 21st minute, as the Saints went into halftime down two goals.
  • Duran and Christian Brenes scored goals for Stanislaus State in the second half, extending the Warriors' lead to 4-0.
