KINGSVILLE, Texas — The Saint Martin's Volleyball team concluded a 4-0 weekend at the Javelina Volleyball Classic on Saturday, September 13.
The Saints captured consecutive sweeps on Day 2 of the tournament, defeating Bridgeport and Southeastern Oklahoma State. The wins improved SMU's record on the season to 7-1, and stretched the team's winning streak to five straight.

How It Happened
- The Saints hit .282% in the first frame and totaled 16 kills — A big run midway through put SMU up 21-12, before going on to win 25-19.
- The second set was the most lopsided of the match, as SMU won 25-15, holding a 13-9 edge in kills.
- SMU clinched the match with a 25-21 third set, which saw the Saints hit .281%. After falling behind 18-14, the Saints rallied an 11-3 run to close out the frame and win the set.

How It Happened
- The Saints jumped out to a 6-2 lead out of the gates and led by as much as nine points during the opening set. SMU held off a late 4-0 run by SE Oklahoma State, holding on to win 25-21 off a kill by Sophie Fast.
- The second set was highly contested, as each team exchanged leads. Down 17-16, SMU rallied a 4-0 run that put the Saints up 20-17. The set moved on to be tied 23-23 down the stretch, but kills by Kingsley Mason and Emmy Hansen secured a 25-23 win for the Saints.
- SMU trailed 14-13 midway through the final set, but a massive 7-0 run put Saint Martin's in the driver's seat. SMU won the set 25-18, with the match-clinching point coming off a kill from Zoey Crimin.
