LACEY, Wash. — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) today announced the appointment of Saint Martin's Men's Soccer Coach Rob Walker as a member of the NCAA Divisions II and III Men's and Women's Soccer Rules Committee.
Walker, who is in his 19th year as a head men's soccer coach at Saint Martin's, has been a fixture at Saint Martin's, and pioneered the university's men's and women's programs from the club level to official GNAC affiliates in 2007. The Olympia native has totaled 84 wins during his tenure as men's soccer head coach.
Members of the NCAA Divisions II and III Men's and Women's Soccer Rules Committee are responsible for proposing and amending college soccer rules to align with the spirit of the sport and promote fairness and global standards. Tasks include reviewing potential rule changes, submitting recommendations to the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel, and analyzing survey and statistical data related to the current state of collegiate soccer.
Walker's four-year term on the committee is set to begin today, Sept. 16.
