FRISCO, Texas — The Saint Martin's Men's Soccer team was victorious against the University of Texas at Tyler by a 1-0 scoreline in the first of back-to-back matches in Frisco, Texas.
After a scoreless first half, a crucial penalty kick by Daniel Rempel-White sealed the deal for the Saints. The win is the first of the season for SMU.
How It Happened
- Both teams went into halftime without any goals, as the first 45 minutes of play were scoreless. Saint Martin's was out-shot 6-1, but only allowed one shot on goal. UT-Tyler managed eight corner kicks in the first half.
- In the 69th minute, UT-Tyler committed a red card, giving the Saints a player-up advantage and the opportunity for a penalty kick. Daniel Rempel-White converted the shot, giving the Saints a 1-0 lead.
- The Saints held off three shots on goals in the second half down the stretch, holding on to win 1-0 at the final whistle.
