PORTLAND, Ore. — The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) today announced its Men's Soccer Athletes of the Weeks for the week of Sept. 22-28, with Saint Martin's junior Connor Leistiko earning Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Leistiko played a crucial role in securing a 1-0 victory against the University of Texas at Tyler, recording a shutout that saw the junior record four saves. In the win, Leistiko made several key saves to preserve the victory, including a penalty kick save in the 70th minute. Across two games this week, Leistiko recorded seven saves.

The award is the first of Leistiko's career. Leistiko has recorded 30 saves this season, which ranks second in the GNAC.

The Saints open GNAC play this week on the road at Western Washington on Oct. 2 and Simon Fraser on Oct. 4.
