COSTA MESA, Calif. — The Saint Martin's Baseball team tallied a 1-1 day on the road, facing Vanguard in Costa Mesa, California on Saturday, January 31.
Game 1: Saint Martin's 10, Vanguard 6
- After a scoreless first inning, the Saints took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second off of a two-RBI triple by Bransyn Hong and an RBI single by Carson Dunn.
- Vanguard notched a run in the bottom of the second to cut the Saints' lead to 3-1, a score that held through the following three scoreless innings.
- In the top of the sixth, Saint Martin's added another run, as Zen Staszkow hit an RBI single to score Bransyn Hong, his second run of the game. Vanguard answered with a solo home run in the bottom of the frame, as the Saints headed into the seventh inning leading 5-2.
- In the top of the eighth, Dunn continued a strong game with a two-RBI triple that scored Bransyn Hong and Kyle Schabot. The Saints kept the momentum going in the eighth inning, as an error allowed Carson Dunn to score and moved Zen Staszkow over to third with one out. Staszkow later scored on a passed ball, increasing the Saints' lead to 8-2.
- Vanguard made a huge push in the bottom of the eighth inning, scoring four runs off of three RBI hits. Bryson Nakamoto ended the rally with a strike out swinging, giving the Saints an 8-6 lead heading into the final inning.
- In the top of the ninth, the Saints loaded the bases with one out. Ethan Akagi scored on a wild pitch to make it 9-6, before Bransyn Hong hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Kyle Schabot and extend the Saints' lead to 10-6.
- Bryson Nakamoto pitched a scoreless final inning to seal the 10-6 victory for Saint Martin's, as the Saints forced a double play to secure the victory.

Game 2: Saint Martin's 1, Vanguard 8 (7 Innings)
- The first three innings were knotted at 0-0, as Hudson Normand pitched a scoreless three innings to open the game.
- Saint Martin's took an early 1-0 lead, as a wild pitch scored Zen Staszkow.
- The Lions took the lead in the bottom of the fourth, scoring on an RBI single and sacrifice fly to go up 2-1.
- A grand slam in the fifth inning by Vanguard tilted the game in favor of the Lions, as Colton Perez's home run put the Saints behind 6-1. The Saints allowed two additional runs, falling 8-1.
