GARY, Ind. — Former Saint Martin's Baseball pitcher Blaze Wong signed a professional contract to play for the Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association of Professional Baseball, the club announced on Saturday.

Wong played four years for Saint Martin's, graduating this spring with nine career victories across 211.2 career innings pitched. This past season, Wong earned five wins, was named Honorable Mention All-GNAC, and eclipsed 100 career strikeouts.

"Really proud of Blaze for the work he put in all year to continue to improve every day," Saints Head Coach Ben Harley said. "He was a key piece of the successes we had this year at Saint Martin's and we thank him for all of his hard work! It's been a joy to see him set out a goal of extending his career into professional baseball, and watch him reach that goal through diligent work! We can't wait to follow along the rest of his baseball journey."

Following his graduation from Saint Martin's, Wong competed for the Kenosha Kingfish this summer, where he threw the club's first ever complete game in a nine-strikeout win against the Richmond Flying Mummies. Heading into the second half of the season, the RailCats signed Wong alonside University of Tampa standout Tobin Moran and former Major League Baseball pitcher Erasmo Ramirez.
