LACEY, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Men's Soccer team played out a 2-2 draw at home against Cal Poly Humboldt at Saints Soccer Field on Saturday, September 12.
The Saints trailed late into the match, until a strike from Lukas Wexler evened the game in the 86th minute. The tie moved the Saints' record to 3-2-1 on the season.
How It Happened
- The Saints held a 6-5 advantage in shots in the first half, and opened the game's scoring in the 17th minute, as Corban Herrera scored off assists from Juan Diaz and Grant Deuel.
- The Lumberjacks found an equalizer in the 29th minute, as Dominic Calero scored off assists from Edwin Monterrosa and Shota Lam. The match went into halftime tied 1-1.
- The second half was an evenly-contested match, as each team totaled six shots.
- In the 77th minute, Cal Poly Humboldt took a 2-1 advantage with a goal from Seth Uson, assisted by Shota Lam and Izaiah Grosveld.
- Late in the match, Juan Diaz passed to Lukas Wexler, who fired a shot into the back of the net that tied the game at 2-2.
