Ellis is entering his third season with SMU as an Assistant Coach.
He comes from Blue Mountain Community College, where he finished up his fourth season as the head coach. He also had stops as a student assistant at Eastern Washington University and spent two seasons as the head coach at Tekoa-Oakesdale.
He is a former NWAC basketball player at Spokane Community College. He then transferred to Eastern Washington University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching. He completed his Master’s Degree at Concordia University – Irvine in Coaching and Athletic Administration.
"Coach Ellis is a fantastic fit for this program and this institution,” said head coach Alex Pribble. "He is very well connected in the Pacific Northwest, and he has great coaching experience as a former head coach. He will be a significant part of our recruiting process, in addition to his work with our current players."
