Granucci is entering his first season with SMU as an Assistant Coach.
 
He comes from coaching College of Marin where he was the head coach for three seasons. Prior to his time at College of Marin, he was an assistant coach at City College of San Francisco for two seasons. As a player, Granucci was a standout at San Jose State University and also played professionally in Italy for one season. He also had a tremendous career at Sir Francis Drake High School in San Anselmo.
 
"I am very excited about the addition of Coach Granucci to our coaching staff,” said head coach Alex Pribble. "He is a tireless worker, and he has a great deal of experience as a coach and as a player. I expect him to have an immediate impact on our program."
 
"I've known Dave and his family for a long time- we come from the same basketball background,” added Pribble. “I have complete faith and trust in him as a coach and as a mentor for our student-athletes."
