Phoebe Schultz joined the Saints after spending the last two years as assistant coach at Bellevue College, and had a successful four-year playing career at San Francisco State and Utah Tech.
"I am excited to have Phoebe on our coaching staff," Saint Martin's Head Coach Jim Peterson said. "She will be a welcomed addition to help elevate our softball program."
At Bellevue College, Schultz worked primarily with outfield defense, offensive strategy, and data/film analysis. In her two seasons with the Bulldogs, they compiled a 46-14 record in NWAC conference play, to go along with back-to-back top-three conference finishes and postseason appearances. In addition, during her two seasons with Bellevue, Schultz coached 14 All-Conference selections, including four NFCA All-Americans, while helping eight athletes sign to continue their playing careers at four-year universities.
Prior to beginning her coaching career, Schultz enjoyed a successful four-year collegiate playing career at the Division I and Division II levels. She signed with Utah Tech University (formerly Dixie State University) in 2019 and spent her freshman and sophomore seasons with the Trailblazers before transferring to San Francisco State for her final two seasons. In her senior season at SFSU (2024), Schultz led the Gators in home runs and ranked second on the team in RBIs, on-base percentage and walks, helping lead SFSU back to the postseason for the first time in five years.
Schultz was also recognized for her success in the classroom as a student-athlete, earning four NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete honors, two CCAA All-Academic Awards and two DII ADA Achievement Awards. Following her senior season, she was also named a CSC Academic All-District recipient, in recognition of her combined accomplishments on the field and in the classroom.
A Snohomish, Wash., native, Schultz holds a Master of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington, where she was recognized with the Faculty Merit Award. She also holds a B.A. in Sociology from San Francisco State, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2024.
