PLEVEN, BULGARIA — Former Saint Martin's standout
Brett Reed has signed a professional contract to join BC Spartak Pleven in Bulgaria for the 2024-2025 season. BC Spartak Pleven competes in the European North Basketball League. For the last two years, Reed has played professionally in Germany and Sweden. This will be his first season competing in the highly competitive ENBL.
Brett Reed graduated from Saint Martin's in 2022, following an incredible senior season where he led the Saints to a GNAC Championship. Reed was named All-GNAC First Team during his senior campaign after averaging 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds. Reed led the GNAC in offensive rebounding during the Saints magical 2021-22 season, where he led a team that was picked 9th in preseason rankings to a GNAC title.
Last season, Reed averaged 16.5 points and 8.6 rebounds playing for the Köping Stars in Köping, Sweden. Saints fans have enjoyed watching Reed compete in the "TBT" event on ESPN the last two summers. Saint Martin's coach
Aaron Landon said, "
Brett Reed is the ultimate mix of talent and toughness. He plays with a mean streak, and his motor runs hot, so he'll be great in any system, country, or league he plays in. We're thrilled that his professional career has let him travel the world and experience so much at such a young age."
BC Spartak Pleven begins their 2024-2025 season on October 5th. Team information, results, and more can be found
