Saints Open Home Schedule On The Right Note - Behind a four double-digit scorers, led by Luke Chavez and Jordan Kitchen, the Saints proved to be too much for the Vulcans of Hawaii-Hilo to handle in a 87-74 victory inside a packed Marcus Pavilion. Chavez spot over 50 percent from the field en route to a game-leading 20 points, along with Kitchen's 17-point, 11-rebound double-double to fuel the Saints' highly efficient offense.
Jordan Kitchen Records Another Double-Double – For the second time in three games, Kitchen has put together a complete game, finishing with 17-points and 11-rebounds against Hawaii-Hilo. His first double-double came in the season opener against Fresno Pacific (21-point, 10-rebound). Kitchen now has four double-doubles.
Kitchen's Four Blocks – Against Hawaii-Hilo, Kitchen recorded four blocks, the most in a single game since Kitchen accomplished six against Western Washington on Dec 3, 2015.
Cal State Monterey Bay Preview – The Otters have begun the season 1-3 with two losses to GNAC opponents (Concordia and Central Washington). CSUMB has one player averaging over 10 points per game with Mateo Jones leading the way at 15.5 ppg, along with a team-leading 9.0 rebound per game. Jahvon Johnson and Josh Kollman are second and third on the team in scoring at 9.8 and 9.0 ppg. Jonquis Bouyea leads the teams in assists at 2.8 per game and 6.3 ppg. As a team, the Otters are averaging 71.3 ppg, 37.8 rpg, 12.3 apg, 5.5 steals per game, 1.0 blocks per game, and 13.0 turnovers per game.
Academy of Art Preview – The Urban Knights will be looking for their first win of the season against the Saints, after starting 0-4. Art U has two losses to GNAC schools this year (Northwest Nazarene and Concordia). The Urban Knights feature three scorers at 10.0 ppg or higher, with Kendall Brown leading the way at 14.8 ppg. Zuri Williams and Cole Morgan round out the trio at 11.0 and 10.8 ppg respectively. Cameron Niven leads the team on the boards with 6.0 rebounds per game, with Brown adding 5.3 rpg. Cobe Williams and Uchenna Okeneme are tied for most assists per game at 2.0 each. As a team, Art U is averaging 70.3 ppg, 34.5 rpg, 9.0 apg, 6.5 steals per game, 1.3 blocks per game, and 13.8 turnovers per game.
Cal Baptist Preview – The Saints have a tough challenge waiting in the form of the Lancers, who rank first in the West Region after a 4-0 start. Five Lancers score in double-digits per game, starting with Kalidou Diouf at 18.0 ppg. Gabe Taylor and Cory Lange are second and third at 14.5 and 13.0 ppg respectively with Jordan Heading and Jason Todd rounding out the five at 11.0 and 10.3 ppg respectively. Diouf also leads the team on the boards at 7.0 rebounds per game. Todd helps lead the offense with his 4.0 assists per game. As a team, the Lancers average 91.5 ppg, 41.8 rpg, 16.8 apg, along with 5.8 steals per game, 1.3 blocks per game and 13.8 turnovers per game.
