TACOMA, Wash. - After fighting off 22 shots from the Lutes, two second half goals proved to be the deciding factor in the Saints' road loss to Pacific Lutheran.

The Lutes (3-1) attacked the Saints (0-4) the entire first half, but never broke through the Saints' defense on 11 shots, with Ali Koehler making four saves. The match remained tied 0-0 into halftime.

At the start of the second half, the Lutes scored the first goal of the match in the 47th minute. Only three minutes later, Pacific Lutheran connected for their second goal of the match to extend the lead to eventual winning score of 2-0. 

Kylee Sarchett recorded the one shot on goal for the Saints while Koehler recorded seven saves.

"I'm happy with how we came out and tried to play our style," said head coach Heather Cato. "Our five minute mental lapse was the difference and something we didn't recover from. Again our backs and goalkeeper needs to be commended for their work. They dealt with pressure and responded well for their team."

The Saints host Cal Baptist at home this upcoming Saturday September 16 at 1:00 p.m.
