Ticket Information – Tickets for all Saints' home games can be purchased at the gate of the event for six dollars for adults, and four for seniors, military, and kids 12 and up. All kids under the age of 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased with cash, or debit and credit card.
Saints Soccer Complex – The Saints home field is located on the campus on Saint Martin's, next to the baseball field near the Pacific Ave entrance. The grass field is located inside the Saint Martin's track, that is equipped with a scoreboard and two grandstand bleachers.
Saints Kicking Some ALS – The Saint Martin's soccer programs and athletic department have partnered together to put on the first Saints Kicking Some ALS match on Saturday, September 29. Both soccer programs will play a doubleheader, with the women starting at 1:00 p.m. and the men following after. Donations can be made at the events, with all proceeds going to help support the research and those affected by ALS.
Sarchett's Golden Goal Caps Off Dramatic Comeback Over Geoducks – After two quick goals from in-town rival The Evergreen State College, the Saints found their footing in the second half, send it to overtime, and sealed the 3-2 dramatic victory on a golden goal from
Kylee Sarchett. The Geoducks (1-4-0) struck fast and quick, notching goals in the sixth and 13th minute to take an early lead. After the initial stun, the Saints (4-1-0) found their offensive rhythm in the later part of the first half, and carried the momentum over to the second half. Sarchett sparked the offense with her first goal of the season in the 56th, and
Shea McKnight netted the equalizer in the 69th minute. In overtime,
Sara Christensen made a game-saving goal, and the Saints turned the tide and ended the match on Sarchett's second goal of the match in the 94th minute.
Saints Drop GNAC Opener On The Road -
Kiersten Madsen struck early for the Saints; however, the momentum quickly swung to Northwest Nazarene as NNU defeated the Saints 5-1 in the conference opener. Madsen's fifth goal of the season, a team leading mark, came in just the seventh minute, putting SMU (4-2-0, 0-1-0) on top 1-0. The Nighthawks (5-0-1, 1-0-0) managed to equalize the match just two minutes later. Later in the first half, NNU scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 34th minute and was able to score an insurance goal before the half ended in the 44th minute.
Saints Lighting Up The Scoreboard – Through the first five games, the Saints have scored 12 goals. In program history, the most goals scored in the first five games of the year was eight. After allowing a goal early to Corban, SMU has scored seven straight goals to start the campaign.
Madsen GNAC Player of the Week – Madsen kicked off the Saints' season with two victories, contributing with two goals and one assist. Madsen scored the equalizer against Corban before netting a penalty kick to cap off a 4-0 victory over Northwest Christian at home. Over the course of the two matches, Madsen recorded 11 shots, six landing on target, for a .545 SOG percentage. The award marked her first of the year and her first of her career.
Scoring Combo Madsen and McKnight – Through the first 13 goals,
Kiersten Madsen and
Shea McKnight have scored eight combined. Madsen scored the first goal of the year and her second came on a penalty kick versus Northwest Christian. McKnight put in the final goal against Corban and the first goal versus Northwest Christian and a third versus Evergreen State. Madsen then added to her total with two quick goals against Holy Names and her fifth came against NNU.
Many New Faces – After graduating three seniors from last year, the Saints added a wave a new players. Eleven new players will dawn Saints' uniforms for the first time, featuring seven transfers and four freshman. Out of the 11, seven are homegrown from the state of Washington, with two from Hawaii, one from Oregon and one from Idaho.
Koehler Making History –
Ali Koehler enters the season at 156 saves in her career, which places her third in school history. Her 95 saves last year shot her up the leaderboard and tied her for fourth most saves in a single season with
Sunny De Boer in SMU program history. On the year, Koehler has managed 18 saves and currently sits at 173, 66 behind second place holder Gina Cardenas (240 saves).
