SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Saints continue to look for their first win of the season after falling to Eastern New Mexico in four sets, 25-22, 31-33, 25-12, 25-21.

In the opening set, Eastern New Mexico took an early 7-1 lead but the Saints were able to trim it down to as little as two by the end. Despite the strong finish, the Greyhounds managed to escape with the set victory.
The second set proved to be one for the record book as the Saints' 33 points was the most ever scored in program history in the 25-point set era, dating back to 2008. Saint Martin's finished set point six times but prevailed in the after a kill and ace from Carter sealed the 33-31 win.
Out of the break, the Greyhounds controlled the entire third set, leading from start to finish and taking a 2-1 led.
An opening 9-3 run by Eastern New Mexico gave them enough of a cushion to survive the Saints' rally at the end. Saint Martin's outscored ENMU 8-2 before the match point was surrendered.
"Tough battle this morning," said head coach
Jon Killingbeck. "We had a great second set but we have some things to work on and roles to develop and own."
