Saints' Comeback Attempt Runs Out Of Time In Loss

LACEY, Wash. – On a late surge from Lexi Caceres, SMU managed to cut the Nighthawks' lead down to just one before eventually falling 3-2.

Northwest Nazarene built up a 2-0 lead in the second half before Rachel Kimura notched her first career goal for the Saints in the 61st minute on an assist from Kiersten Madsen. Madsen lofted a ball from midfield over the defense to a streaking Kimura for an clean shot on goal.

The Nighthawks responded right back with a goal of their own in the 64th minute to pad their lead back to 3-1.

Saint Martin's took another stab at the lead in the 80th minute when Lexi Caceres found the ball in the box after a volley in, going to the far right post for her second goal of the year. However, the comeback came up short in the final minutes, with the Saints pressuring the Nighthawks for an equalizer.
