LACEY, Wash. – Early goals from the Nighthawks proved to be difference maker in the Saints' 2-0 loss on Saturday afternoon.
 
Less than four minutes into the match, Northwest Nazarene managed to squeeze through the Saints' defense, and capitalized on an SMU mistake to take a lead. Then seven minutes later, the Nighthawks struck again, punching in an insurance goal to take a 2-0 lead.
 
However, the Saints started to settle into their flow by midway through the first half, recording four shots. Saint Martin's limited the chances for Northwest Nazarene down the stretch, and held the score 2-0.
 
In the second half, the Northwest Nazarene controlled the tempo of the game, and didn't allow a shot for the Saints for first 30 minutes of the half. Saint Martin's managed to take the last shots in the match, but none were able to land on target, and SMU fell 2-0.
