LACEY, Wash. – After delivering a walk-off home run for the Saints, first baseman
Aaron Renaud was named the GNAC Batter of the Week on Monday.
Renaud collected five hits on the day against nationally ranked NAIA Lewis-Clark State, but none were bigger than his final. With the ballgame tied 5-5, with a runner on first and two outs in the ninth, Renaud jumped on a first pitch fastball. His two run blast to left walked off the Saints and salvaged a split on the day.
Renaud went 5-for-9 on the day, with four of hits coming in game two. Renaud drove in two runs, scored two runs and led the Saints in hits.
The award marks the first of the season for Renaud, and first of his career.
