Box Score 2 ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington took the first end of the doubleheader before the Saints' offense bounced back with 12 runs, and a strong outing from
Cole Hatton.
Saint Martin's jumped on the board early with two runs in the first inning with RBIs from
Dakota Hill, and
Reid Little. However, the lead quickly dispersed in the bottom of the first on a third run home run.
Central Washington proceeded to score 10 straight runs to open up a comfortable lead, and cruised to a 17-to-5 victory.
In the second game, Saint Martin's once again jumped on the board early.
Aaron Renaud started the offense off with a two RBI triple. A fielding error resulted in a run, before
Braeden McNally drove in another two on a single to center field.
After Hill drove in one in the fourth, the senior delivered again in the sixth with a RBI single up the middle.
Cody Chavis added a run in the sixth to extend the Saints' lead to 8-to-1. Saint Martin's added four insurance runs in the seventh to finish out the day with a 12-to-4 split.
Cole Hatton got the start in the second game, tossing six innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, four walks, and four strikeouts. The righty did not allow a run until the bottom of the fifth.
James Gunther was called in to close out the seventh and final inning.
