LACEY, Wash. – The Saint Martin's men's soccer team (2-9-2, 2-4-1 GNAC) came up short on Thursday afternoon, falling 2-0 at the hands of MSU-Billings (3-6-2, 1-3-2 GNAC).
The first half was one that included a lot of shots by the visiting Yellowjackets. Saint keeper
Nick Mueller was able to stand up to the vast majority of shots that were sent his way, but late in the frame, it was MSU-B that connected with the back of the net after a nice cross came in from the left side before being stabbed in by Callum Bryan.
Diego Andrade struck the lone shot on target for the Saints in half one, but the Billings keeper was apt to keep it out.
The second half was more evenly played, but again the Yellowjackets were able to find the back of the net, this time after and amazing stop from Mueller was rebounded back to an MSU-B striker who finished it off. A late surge by the Saints was fruitless and Saint Martin's finished with a two-goal loss.
The Saints will have Saturday off, before being back in action next Thursday, October 20
th, on the road against Seattle Pacific (3-4-5, 2-1-2 GNAC).
