Boyd and J. Schulz Take Home First Place Finishes At PLU Open

TACOMA, Wash. – Up the road at Pacific Lutheran, Andrew Boyd and Josh Schulz earned top podium finishes as the Saints competed at the PLU Open.

Boyd recorded three scoring finishes but shined the most in the 110m hurdles, winning the event with a time of 15.23 seconds. He also saw a sixth-place finish in the high jump at 5-ft, 7.75-in and seventh in 400m dash at 51.96 seconds.
 
Josh Schulz earned his top spot in the long jump, hitting a best mark of 22-ft, 0.25-in on his sixth and final attempt. In the same event, Andrew Schulz finished third with his best of 20-ft, 5.25-in.
 
Noa Peralta, and Andrew Alfred also placed top three in their events with Peralta competing in the hammer throw at 155-ft, 4-in. Alfred in the pole vault cleared the height of 13-ft, 1.5-in on his third and final attempt.
 
Micah Au-Haupu earned fourth overall in the shout put at 45-ft, 9.75-in, along with a seventh-place finish in the hammer and ninth in the discus.
 
Gabriela Cintron took fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.88 seconds, and Madison Vu was seventh in the 200m at 27.37 seconds, and 10th in the 100m. Brianna Cabrera was sixth in the pole vault, clearing the height of 9-ft, 6.25-in on her first attempt.
 
The Saints travel to Seattle Pacific for their next meet, the Doris Heritage on March 19.
