Box Score YELM, Wash. – Montana State Billings used a massive third inning to defeat the Saints in the first of five games this weekend.

Zach Alcos started on the mound for SMU (6-16, 1-4 GNAC) and the Yellowjackets (11-12, 2-3 GNAC) got off to a fast start with a leadoff homerun in the first inning.

The Yellowjackets score a pair in the seventh inning to push their lead to 10-1. The Saints responded with a rally in the bottom of the ninth inning highlighted by a two-RBI triple from Cody Chavis to close the deficit but MSUB held on to win 10-3.

The Saints will be back at it tomorrow for a double header back in Lacey at 12 PM. Live stats and video will be available on smusaints.com.
