Strong Showing for Saints’ T&F at Peyton Shotwell

TACOMA, Wash. – Saint Martin's had a great showing at the Peyton Shotwell Invitational with five first place finishes and 16 podium finishes on the day.

In the women's 100m Cree Bell won the event with a time of 12.75 and right behind her in second was her teammate Madison Vu with a time of 12.98.
 
In the men's 100m dash, the Schulz brothers shared the podium together. Josh Schulz came in second with a time of 11.30 and Andrew Schulz finished third with a time off 11.38.
 
Gabriela Cintron won the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 15.35. In second place was Eden Mortensen with a time of 15.51 and finishing in fifth place was Hannah Cook with a time of 17.02.
 
Coming in second in the men's 110m hurdles was Andrew Boyd with a time of 15.36 and Brandon McMillian-Thomas finished fifth in the event with a time of 17.45.
 
Boyd also placed in the men's 400m with a time of 52.01 for a third place finish.
 
In the women's 400m hurdles, Mortensen finished third with a time of 1:08.88.
 
Jocelyn Saribay placed fifth in the women's discus throw with a distance of 34.84m (114-ft, 3-in) and third in women's shot put with a distance of 11.42m (37-ft, 5.75-in).
 
Micah Au-Haupu won men's shot put with a distance of 13.77m (45-ft, 2.25-in) and placed second in men's discus throw with a distance of 38.26m (125-ft, 6-in).
 
Andrew Schulz leapt over the competition to take first in men's long jump with a distance of 6.84m (22-ft, 5.25-in).
 
Andrew Alfred won men's pole vault after clearing 4.17m (13-ft, 8.25-in).
 
Claire Skaggs placed fourth in women's pole vault after clearing 3.18m (10-ft, 5.25-in) on her second attempt and Brianna Cabrera placed fifth after clearing 3.18m on her third attempt.
 
In men's triple jump, Josh Schulz placed third with a distance of 12.98m (42-ft, 7-in) and in women's triple jump Margaret Zilla placed second with a distance of 9.84m (32-ft, 3.5-in).
 
The Saints will take a short break before heading back to Tacoma to participate in the PLU Invitational on April 9th.
