TACOMA, Wash. – Cassidy Walchak-Sloan and
Josh Schulz led the way for the Saints with two first place finishes, as the Saints had a combined eight podium finishes across various events at the Ed Boitano Invitational.
COMPLETE RESULTS
Walchak-Sloan won the women's 1500 with a time of 4:41.89. Finishing right behind her,
Naomi Hartley finished second with a time of 4:54.51 and in fifth was
Sara Sabra with a time of 4:59.23
Schulz won first in the men's long jump with a distance of 6.86m (22-ft, 6.25-in).
Andrew Boyd ran a 11.83 in the 100m dash for a sixth place finish.
Eden Mortensen placed second in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 15.49.
Brandon McMillian-Thomas ran a 16.72 in the men's 110m hurdles for a third place finish.
In the men's 400m dash
Rudu Wani finished fourth with a time of 53.20.
On the women's side of the 400m dash, Olivia Cervantes finished fifth with a time of 1:09.03.
SMU had three top-ten finishers in the men's 1500,
Kainalu Pagente (4:04.10),
Isaac Cortes (4:04.57) and
Lance Slichko (4:09.57).
Noa Peralta and
Josh Eiland finished fourth and fifth in the men's hammer throw with distances of 45.18m (148-ft, 2-in) and 44.78m (146-ft, 11-in).
Micah Au-Haupu finished second in the men's shot put with a distance of 14.18m (128-ft, 11-in).
In the women's 4x100 meter relay, the team of Madison Vu,
Cree Bell, Mortensen, and
Margaret Zilla placed second with a time of 50.91.
On the men's side of the 4x100 meter relay, the team of Andrew &
Josh Schulz, Josh Tanicala and Boyd placed third with a time of 44.35.
The Saints will return to Tacoma next weekend, for the PLU invitational on March 12th.
