BILLINGS, Mont. – There was no shortage of action in Billings, as the Saints broke the NCAA-era school record for most runs in a game, winning the first tilt 22-11 before dropping the second game 16-13 on Friday.

Saint Martin's began the historic first game with five runs in the first inning and added another two in the fourth. After a run in the sixth, the runs started to pour in in the later innings. The Saints threw up another five spot in the seventh, and nearly doubled that in the ninth, putting nine runs up on the board.

Overall, the Saints collected 22 runs on 14 hits, 11 walks, and seven hit batters.
Reid Little and
Cody Chavis collected three hits each, while
Dakota Hill led the way with five RBI. Hill,
Hunter Kosmider, and
Austin Schaler each finished with multi-hit games.

Despite all the offense, it was just a two-run game before the Saints' ninth inning. But after throwing up a record setting 22nd run, an RBI from Little, the Saints coasted to the 11-run victory.

Saint Martin's continued to score in bunches, throwing seven more runs up in the first inning of the second game. MSUB scored three in the second but the Saints broke open the game with one run in the third and fifth, sandwiched around a four-run fourth.

However, with the Saints leading 13-3 heading into the bottom of the fifth, they were unable to close out the game. Montana State Billings scored eight runs in the fifth, and another five in the sixth to complete the 10-run comeback.

Saint Martin's scored 13-runs on seven hits, 12 walks, and one hit-by-pitch. On the day total, the Saints' bats combined for 39 runs over 21 hits, a staggering 23 walks, and eight hit batters.

Saint Martin's returns home for the final two weeks of the season, hosting Central Washington on Friday April 29 and Saturday, April 30.
