LACEY, Wash. – Saint Martin's baseball Head Coach Kelly Gau has announced the 52-game schedule that team will face in the Spring of 2024. Highlighting by an exciting week long trip to Hawaii, SMU baseball will matchup with schools from all three divisions in the NCAA as well as the NAIA, to prepare for what is sure to be another competitive GNAC campaign. The season gets underway on February 1st with a trip to San Marcos, California with the regular season finale coming at home on April 29th versus Pacific Lutheran.

"After recently finishing our non-championship season and now moving into individuals, we are excited to setting our sights on the upcoming season," said Gau, "We have put together an exciting non-conference schedule that will help in our preparations for GNAC play."

After SMU's first ever program meeting with CSU-San Marcos, the team will head halfway across the Pacific for a trip to Hawaii where they will see Hawaii-Hilo and Hawaii Pacific for some games, as well as matchups with Chaminade University in their first year of varsity baseball.

Gau knows that this trip to Hawaii will be a tremendous adventure for the team. "This will be a special opportunity for our current Hawaiian players to play in front of their extended families and our entire team to get a unique experience," he said.

Conference play begins on March 2nd with a trip to Ellensburg against CWU, before the first games at home come on March 8th against MSU-Billings. The defending GNAC champion Wolves on Western Oregon come to town on March 16th and 17th, while the runner-ups in last years conference tournament, Northwest Nazarene, play in Lacey on April 26th and 27th to round out the conference schedule in the regular season.

"We talk constantly with our team about the importance of each segment of the school year, with each one having its own goals and objectives." Gau remarked, "We continue to strive to get the most important segment, post-season play."

With under 100 days now to go until opening day, baseball season can't come soon enough.
