SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – With a clean drubbing over Dominican University on Tuesday night, the Saint Martin's men's basketball team (6-0) moved to their best start in the DII history of the team, with six games played, all of them wins.
It was a total team victory with nearly all of the roster adding to the win, including seven different players in double figures.
Marcel Stevens led the way going 6-9 from behind the arc for 24 points while
Kyle Greeley had 17.
Marcus Lenker had 13,
Myles Samuels and
Jayshawn Moore had 12, plus
Shakeem Alcindor and
Kaden Hansen with 10 each.
Tyke Thompson was one of two players that didn't hit double figures but he still had 10 rebounds to his eight points. SMU also had some crazy steal numbers including Samuels with five and Stevens with four.
The Saints now will play at Academy of Art, the team who ended their-then program best 5-0 start a year ago. That game is slated for Friday, November 24
th at 3 PM in San Fransisco.
