SAN BERNARDINO, Cali. – The Saint Martin's baseball team (0-4) was swept on opening weekend down in California, as they dropped all four contests against CSU-San Bernardino (7-0) by scores of 10-7, 10-1, 12-4, and 8-4.

Some highlights from the opening series includes the two home runs hit by SMU, one from Jonathan Shimabukuro in his Saints debut on Friday, before another newbie in Kyle Schabot slammed a dinger in that game as well. Freshman Brady Bean was an on-base machine with seven hits in the series, including one double. Alohi Arecchi also caused some problems for the Coyotes going 5-15 with two doubles. Shimabukuro was the only Saint with multiple RBIs as the JuCo product brought home three runs.

On the mound, three different Saint Martin's pitchers allowed zero earned runs. Both in their debuts, Mattingly Milledge and Connor Mendez fired blanks. Mendez went 2.2 innings and struck out three. Blaze Wong also didn't allowed an earned run and Sam McCauley allowed just one earned run in his 2.2 innings on the mound. Justice Yamashita led the squad in strikeouts with four.

The Saints are set for their home opener this week, when they match up with Oregon Tech  on Saturday and Sunday. First pitch on Saturday the 18th is set for 12 PM.
