LACEY, Wash. – The No. 5 Saint Martin's men's basketball team (14-1, 4-1 GNAC) got out to an early lead and ran away with it Saturday evening in a convincing 81-58 shellacking over Western Oregon University (4-9, 1-4 GNAC).
The first five minutes were dominated by the Saints as they shot out to a 12-point lead before the Wolves even grabbed a bucket. The 12-0 edge quickly turned to SMU being up 20 when
Tyke Thompson hit a three-pointer with 8:55 left to go in the first, and from there, the Saints locked in cruise control to get an eventual 23-point victory.
Myles Samuels led the squad in scoring with 17 points, while
Kyle Greeley notched a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards. Thompson had 14 and
Jaden Nielsen-Skinner had 13 to go along with nine assists.

This win sets up a huge tilt with MSU-Billings on Thursday night for Pack the Pav presented by TwinStar Credit Union. The Saints and the undefeated-in-conference-play Yellowjackets will play for a first-place spot in the GNAC with a 7:30 PM contest.
