BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Women's Soccer team was defeated 3-1 at Western Washington on Saturday, October 11.
How It Happened
- The match was scoreless for the first 25 minutes, as Saint Martin's saw a shot on goal from Brooke Streeter in the fifth minute and two more shots in the 23rd minute.
- In the 27th minute, Western Washington broke the scoreless tie with a goal from Reese Walker.
- The Saints fell behind 2-0 in the 38th minute as Alina Kravtsov scored off a free kick.
- SMU cut the lead down to 2-1 in the 39th minute, as Eve Charles scored her first goal of the season. The Saints went into halftime trailing 2-1.
- Western Washington out shot Saint Martin's 9-2 in the second half, but the majority of the 45 minutes were scoreless until the Vikings extended the lead to 3-1 in the 85th minute off a goal by Mie Cairns. The Saints saw two shots, one on target, in the second half, but ultimately fell 3-1 at the final whistle.
