LACEY, Wash. — The Saint Martin's Men's Soccer team lost its home match against Seattle Pacific 8-1 at Saints Field on Saturday, October 18.
After a scoreless first half, the Saints went on to be out scored 8-1 in the second half.
How It Happened
- The first half was a defensive battle, as the Saints were out shot by a narrow 6-3 margin. The Saints saw two shots from Cole Sullivan, one of which bounced off the left post. Daniel Rempel-White also tallied a shot in the first half. Goalkeeper Connor Leistiko recorded five saves in the first half to keep the Falcons off the board.
- Seattle Pacific broke the scoreless tie in the 52nd minute, as Isaac Ketcham scored off an assist from Sebastian Rangel.
- The Saints answered back in the 57th minute, as Jonathan Wright scored a header off a cross from Paul Lopez, knotting the score at 1-1.
- Just 12 seconds later, Orlando Erazo's goal but the Falcons up 2-1.
- In the final 19 minutes of play, Seattle Pacific added six goals to run off with an 8-1 victory on a rain-drenched Saints Field. The Falcons totaled 17 second-half shots.
